Ok. we had a late dinner so just now getting back to the blog.
Todays ride was excellent. We climbed out of the desert around Mesquite, NV and got as high as 9,600 feet before we got into Torrey, UT which is about 7,000 get above sea level.
We took I-15 about 35 miles north until we got to Utah State Route 9. SR 9 takes you through Zion National Park which is shown in the first video. As part of the ride there is a mile long tunnel. I thought that would be interesting but they did have little outlooks along the mile long tunnel. Its only one way traffic and there are no lights in the tunnel. So its dark.
We continued on SR 9 until we got Bryce Canyon National Park. You don't ride through Bryce Canyon you go in and come out. We went in about 10 miles. The view from the road is mostly trees and a few animals.
But at the look outs there are some interesting views.
Those are views from an overlook.
While the ride through Zion was cool, the ride through the next park was really cool. The videos and still images do not do it justice.
Following SR 9 north, you turn right onto SR 12. This goes through Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument.
Here as some still images. The second video above is from Grand Staircase- Escalante National Monument. There are towering rock formations and nice twisting roads all along the way.
